Franz graduated from Lakehead University and received a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Civil Engineering. He also received a Civil Engineering Technology diploma from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology where he majored in Municipal studies.

Upon his employment, Franz has been assisting with reviewing shop drawings, writing technical documents, and drafting preliminary drawings on AutoCAD. Franz has Bluebeam Revu: Basics and Bluebeam: Estimating with Revu certificates and has been utilizing his knowledge to assist with project estimation and creating quantity takeoffs.
